The Andrei Konchalovsky Production Center organized a tour of the Venetian theatre Stabile del Veneto «Carlo Goldoni» to Moscow. This gave the audience in the capital the opportunity to see one of the most interesting European productions of Galdoni's play.
This production of Carlo Goldoni's last comedy "One of the Last Carnival Evenings" commemorated the 300th anniversary of the great playwright’s birth.
The production, staged by Pier Luigi Pizzi, depicts a day in the life of a Venetian family. The members of the audience feel as though they are part of an ancient theatrical game, practically sitting at the table with the characters, who are eating, gambling, joking and betting.
The dramaturgic qualities of the great Carlo Goldoni combined with the brilliant production of the Italian director and the actors’ performances undoubtedly recreate the atmosphere of a wonderful festival, the Venetian Carnival, where one mask is replaced by another...
